Are gearbox and reducer the same concept?

Gearbox and reducer are not the same concept, their functions and structures are different.
1. The meaning and function of gearbox and reducer
Gearboxes and reducers are important parts of mechanical transmission. Their function is to transmit the engine's power to the wheels. But they differ in how and how they accomplish this purpose.

Gearboxes are generally used in vehicles such as cars and motorcycles. Their function is to adjust the speed and torque output by the engine.
